HotCity Theatre produces contemporary, issue-oriented works of theatre that challenge and inspire St. Louis area audiences. HotCity also develops new theatrical works, encourages diversity, and through educational outreach nurtures a life-long passion for theatre.

ANNAMARIA PILEGGI

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Annamaria Pileggi is an actor and director whose career has included collaborations with writers Theresa Rebeck and Barbara Damashek, directors Barney Simon of the Market Theatre in Johannesburg, South Africa, and David Wheeler of the American and Trinity Repertory Theatres. She is also a member of the HotCity staff as an Associate Director and Co-Producer of the Greenhouse New Play Series. Pileggi is a Senior Lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis and has been on the faculty of the Performing Arts Department since 1991. A three time recipient of the University’s College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award, Pileggi directs and teaches courses in Acting, Movement for the Actor, and Musical Theatre. She also serves as an administrator and acting instructor for the department’s Shakespeare Globe Program in London. Pileggi has an MFA in acting from Brandeis University.

CHUCK HARPER

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Chuck is a director, actor and Asst. Professor of Performance at SIUE. His most recent projects include “At Play in the Valley of the Shadow of Chet” (Circle X Theatre, Los Angeles), “The Scene and Kimberly Akimbo” (HotCity Theatre), and “The Life and Times of Tulsa Lovechild“ (Mad Scene Theatre, Los Angeles). Last year he wrote, directed and performed in the HotCity Greenhouse/Theatre Belle Bete co-production of “The Probe: An Inquiry into the Meteoric Rise and Spectacular Fall of Orson Welles in Hollywood.“ This production was subsequently remounted as part of the 2007 Fringe Festival Praha in Prague, Czech Republic. Other overseas credits include the European premieres of “Big Love” (Ardeo Theater, France) and “Quills “ (BBIT, Czech Republic and FOIO, Germany). Chuck is currently developing another original piece for Theatre Belle Bete titled “WHAMMY!!: The Seven Hidden Secrets to Understanding the Self-Help and Actualization Movement in Post-Y2K America.” Coming soon to a HotCity stage near you!

MAUREEN O'BRIEN

MARKETING DIRECTOR

Maureen O’Brien has been the Marketing Director for HotCity Theatre since 2009. She began working for HotCity Theatre in 2004 as Associate Director and cofounder of the GreenHouse Series. A member of Actors' Equity Association, her stage managing credits include ”Cockeyed," “Men with Clubs," “Say You Love Satan," “Daddy’s Dyin’, Who’s Got the Will?” and “Chesapeake” for HotCity Theatre, “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” for Vanity Theatre, “Chess” for The Alpha Players, “Jon and Jen” for Spotlight Theatre, “Fear and Loathing in Lakeview” and “Love Scenes” at The Bailiwick Theatre in Chicago. Maureen is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Film. She is currently the Freelance Specialist for AFTRA, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

KIMBERLY KLEARMAN

PRODUCTION MANAGER

In addition to serving as HotCity's production manager, Kimberly is the Lighting Supervisor for the Touhill Performing Arts Center and has recently joined the Technical Theatre Advisory Board for St. Louis Community College at Meremac. She has also lectured on lighting design at the Sound for Worship Conference, consulted at Clayton High School, and taught in theatre technology for the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Last fall, she lit the world premiere “O Pioneers!” by Barbara Harbach and “Brundibar,” by Opera Theatre Saint Louis. She has also lit shows with BalletMet Columbus, Ambassadors of Harmony, Insight Theatre Company, Dramatic License Productions, UMSL Theatre and Dance, UMSL Opera, RiverCity Theatre, Modern American Dance Company (MADCo), Union Avenue Opera, St. Louis Shakespeare Company, and Atrek Dance Collective. She received her MFA from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music and her BFA from Ohio University.
