HotCity hires a great number of artists throughout the year, and the majority of them are techincians. HotCity offers stipends in all positions.
Designers:
HotCity is always collecting resumes for professional, experienced designers in all areas.

We offer a competitve stipend and the chance to work in a very collaborative, fun environment with scripts that are engaging and offer a variety of concepts and design options. While we have a full staff of people hired to build and execute our productions, we do expect designers to help execute aspects of each design. Please note that we hire both USA and non-USA designers, and our focus on St. Louis artists means that we only rarely use artists outside the St. Louis region, and even then, generally only people with whom our staff and director is very familiar.
Technicians
HotCity actively collects resumes for all technical positions, including but not limited to:
- Assistant Stage Managers (eligible for EMC points)
- Light and Sound console operators
- Backstage running crew
-Carpentry/build crew
-Props crew (usually only build/collecting, not running)
-Wardrobe All ASM are non-union positions.
We offer a small stipend for each position that may or may not require previous experience. HotCity considers commitment, sense of humor, work ethic, and a passion for theatre as most important traits to working on our shows. All work schedules in involve some weekends and some weeknights, with productions requiring a four week commitment. Most of our crew hold day-jobs and help us out for the fun and experience of professional live theatre.
